  • Marc Plouzeau Perles Fines Sparkling Brut Rosé NV
    $20.00
Sparkling wine. Chinon, Loire Valley, France. Organic. 100% Cabernet Franc. "Marc Plouzeau’s 'Perles Fines' Rosé Pétillant is a lovely wine, showing more elegance on the nose and palate than the 'Perle Sauvage' version. The bouquet shows lovely cabernet franc character in its mix of white cherries, a touch of tangerine, currant leaf, lovely soil tones and a bit of smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and very nicely balanced, with frothy mousse, a good core and nice length and grip on the vibrant finish. A tasty bottle of sparkling cabernet franc, with plenty of elegance." — 88 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar #59 (Sept./Oct. 2015)

  • Bodegas Mateos Rioja Letargo Crianza 2016
    $16.00

Red wine. Rioja, Spain. Sustainable. 85% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano. From a family that has been making wines in Rioja for seven generations, Letago is a rich and fruit-driven example of wines from Rioja Baja. Aged for 12 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak 225 liter barrels and aged an additional 12 moths after bottling. This is a wine that needs some time in a decanter. Once the wine unwinds, look for flavors of cherry, plum, with baking spices and licorice at the back. A terrific wine for grilled and smoked foods, try it with a Texas style brisket.

  • Domaine Anthony & David Girard Sancerre 'Les Monts Damnes' 2018
    $29.00
White wine. Sancerre, Loire Valley, France. Sustainable. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. "The 2018 Sancerre “les Monts Damnés” from Anthony and David Girard is an excellent young wine, with the profound base of minerality of this great terroir front and center on both the nose and palate. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of fresh lime, gooseberry, complex limestone minerality, lovely botanicals, citrus peel and a bit of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and mineral-driven, with a superb core of fruit, a very good girdle of acidity for the vintage, lovely focus and grip and a long, pure and nascently complex finish. As the acids here are not snappy, the wine can already be drunk with great pleasure, but there are many more layers of complexity to unfold here with a few years in the cellar. First class Monts Damnés! 2020-2035." — 92+ Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar #87 (May/June 2020)

  • San Giovanni Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Brut Valdobbiadene NV
    $19.00

Sparkling wine. Conegliano, Veneto, Italy. Sustainable. 100% Glera. High-pitched aromas of stone fruits, lime, and pears. There's good balance and energy to the flavors of lemon, white peach and green apple. A restrained style of Prosecco, with very nice balanced acidity that leaves the mouth feeling fresh and clean but that accentuates the impression of dryness on the surprisingly persistent finish.
