Aged all in concrete, it offers up a pretty, perfumed bouquet of sweet berry fruit, crushed flowers and hints of herbs that flows to a medium-bodied, elegant and seamless Cotes du Rhone that has loads of character. • Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas 'La Louisiane' 2017
    $37.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 5% balance of Cinsault and Syrah. "Deeply colored, the 2016 Gigondas La Louisiane comes from single vineyard on the lower plain, not far from the estate, and is 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, and the balance Syrah and Cinsault. It offers a classic bouquet of dark berry fruits, peppery herbs, garrigue, and obvious minerality. Reminding me of the 2010 with its pure, straight style, it’s full-bodied and elegant on the palate, and is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age." — 96 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com (Sept. 2018)

  • Chapelle St Theodoric Chateauneuf-Du-Pape 'La Guigasse' 2016
    $60.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 100% Grenache. "As I predicted last year, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape La Guigasse has smoothed out considerably and seemingly absorbed the stemmy elements I noted previously. Still not yet bottled, it now offers wonderful fruit purity and intensity. Raspberries and cherries are delivered on a full-bodied, rich and creamy palate that somehow avoids any sense of heaviness. It looks to be a stunning example of 70-year-old Grenache from the sandy lieu-dit of the same name." — 95-97 Points, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate #238 (Aug. 2018)

  • Domaine Les Aphillanthes Cotes-du-Rhone 'Trois Cepages' 2016
    $20.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. 33% Grenache, 33% Mourvèdre, 33% Syrah. Biodynamic. "Tasted from concrete, where it's been maturing since the beginning, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee Trois Cepages is equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the commune of Ste. Cécile les Vignes. This is lovely stuff—dark, rich, earthy and savory—supple upfront but adding dusty tannins on the long finish. It should drink well for close to a decade." — 90-92 Points, Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate (Nov. 2017)

  • Domaine de Ferrand Cotes-du-Rhone La Ferrande Syrah 2016
    $23.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 100% Syrah. "A Côtes du Rhône that needs to be tasted to be believed, the 2016 Domaine de Ferrand Côtes-du-Rhône La Ferrand comes from older Syrah vines around the estate (just to the north of Châteauneuf du Pape) and was brought up in barrel (I think this is the only wine from the estate to see oak). Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a vivid bouquet of blueberries, ground pepper, violets, and floral notes. I’d probably guess Cote Rotie in a blind tasting and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a layered, elegant texture, beautiful tannins, and a great finish." — 93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, (May 2019)

  • Patrick & Christophe Bonnefond Vin de Pays Syrah 2016
    $21.00

Red wine. Northern Rhône, France. Sustainable. 100% Syrah. Brilliant violet. Vibrant blackberry and boysenberry aromas, lifted by a spicy peppery element. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering gently sweet dark fruit flavors that deepen on the back half. Fine-grained tannins shape the persistent finish, which leaves behind smoky mineral and cherry pit notes. This wine delivers outstanding value.
