  • Chateau de Manissy La Belle Etoile IGP du Gard Rouge 2016
    $11.00

Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 80% Syrah, 20% Grenache. Ripe black and blue fruits, garrigue, and smoked meat on the fragrant nose. Smooth bitter cherry and black currant flavors are underscored by gentle acidity and show good energy and back-end spiciness. Finely textured tannins come in late on the smoky finish, which lingers with good focus and intensity. If only every French bistro would have wines of this caliber available by the glass for under $10.

  • Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas 'Les Souteyrades' 2016
    $33.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 80% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre. "The 2016 Gigondas Les Souteyrades checks in as 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre that was brought up all in foudre. It's another powerful, concentrated, awesome wine that has slightly more exotic notes of black raspberries, crushed flowers, spice, and sappy garrigue. I almost always find a citrus note in this cuvée, which is full-bodied, opulent and mouthfilling on the palate, yet always stays graceful and lively." — 97 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com (Sept. 2018)

  • Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas 'La Louisiane' 2016
    $32.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 5% balance of Cinsault and Syrah. "Deeply colored, the 2016 Gigondas La Louisiane comes from single vineyard on the lower plain, not far from the estate, and is 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, and the balance Syrah and Cinsault. It offers a classic bouquet of dark berry fruits, peppery herbs, garrigue, and obvious minerality. Reminding me of the 2010 with its pure, straight style, it’s full-bodied and elegant on the palate, and is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age." — 96 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com (Sept. 2018)

  • Domaine Les Aphillanthes Cotes-du-Rhone 'Trois Cepages' 2016
    $17.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. 33% Grenache, 33% Mourvèdre, 33% Syrah. Biodynamic. "Tasted from concrete, where it's been maturing since the beginning, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee Trois Cepages is equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the commune of Ste. Cécile les Vignes. This is lovely stuff—dark, rich, earthy and savory—supple upfront but adding dusty tannins on the long finish. It should drink well for close to a decade." — 90-92 Points, Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate (Nov. 2017)

  • Domaine de Ferrand Cotes-du-Rhone La Ferrande Syrah 2016
    $23.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 100% Syrah. "A Côtes du Rhône that needs to be tasted to be believed, the 2016 Domaine de Ferrand Côtes-du-Rhône La Ferrand comes from older Syrah vines around the estate (just to the north of Châteauneuf du Pape) and was brought up in barrel (I think this is the only wine from the estate to see oak). Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a vivid bouquet of blueberries, ground pepper, violets, and floral notes. I’d probably guess Cote Rotie in a blind tasting and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a layered, elegant texture, beautiful tannins, and a great finish." — 93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, (May 2019)

  • Domaine Les Aphillanthes Cotes-du-Rhone Villages Rasteau '1921' 2016
    $26.00
Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. 92% Grenache, 7% Mourvèdre, 1% Carignan. Biodynamic. "I suspect the 2016 Rasteau Cuvee 1921 is the finest wine to date from this estate; it’s unquestionably one of the finest Rasteau I’ve tasted. Flat-out stunning notes of spring flowers, orange blossom, violets, and blueberries all emerge from this full-bodied effort that has ample power and richness, yet beautiful elegance and purity at the same time. It’s going to benefit from a year or two of cellaring and keep for a decade." — 95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (May 2019)
