The Chêne Marchand is from the eponymous lieu-dit in Bué and opens with a deep bouquet of citrus fruit, elderflower, jasmine and a hint of black currant. Full-bodied, very mineral and complex on the palate, this is a pure and lovely, yet densely woven and concentrated Sancerre; it has nutty flavors, a lot of salt and crushed (lime-) stones, as well as a very tight and persistent, refreshing finish.
