  • Domaine des Moirots Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017
    $20.00
Red wine. Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Pinot Noir. "The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge from Christophe Denizot at Domaine des Moirots is crafted from a variety of parcels, so that the average age of vines in this bottling is thirty-five years-old. Most of the cuvée is fermented and aged in cement tanks, with about ten percent seeing its elevage in three year-old barrels. The 2017 version is a good, solid wine in the making, offering up a complex nose of cherries, quince, woodsmoke, fresh herbs and a good base of chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tangy, with a fine core, good transparency and grip, modest tannins and a long, still fairly primary finish. Like many examples of Bourgogne Rouge, this could do with a few years in the cellar to blossom, but it will be a good glass of pinot noir in due course. 2023-2033." — 88 Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar #87 (May/June 2020)

  • Domaine Guerrin Saint Veran 'Le Clos Vessats' 2017
    $20.00
White wine. Mâconnais, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Chardonnay. "The 2017 Saint-Véran 'Le Clos Vessats' from Domaine Guerrin et Fils in Vergisson is their younger vine bottling from this appellation, as this two hectare Clos is planted with fifteen year-old vines. However, the vineyard is steep and faces southwest in exposition, giving good mid-palate stuffing from these younger vines. The 2017 version is very pretty and quite classic in profile, offering up scents of apple, toasty soil elements, a touch of hazelnut, white flowers and a hint of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, focused and full-bodied, with a good core, zesty acids and very good grip and soil signature on the long finish. This is ready to drink right out of the blocks, but clearly has the balance to also age quite nicely." — 89 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar #79 (Jan./Feb. 2019)

  • Domaine Servin Petit Chablis 'Sur Les Clos' 2017
    $24.00
White wine. Chablis, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Chardonnay. "The 2017 Petit Chablis Sur Les Clos is a success, wafting from the glass with fragrant aromas of peach, white flowers and green apple. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, pure and glossy, with tangy acids and a nice core of fruit. Charming and accessible, it should drink well on release. The name Sur Les Clos denotes its origin from vines planted on the plateau above the grand cru slope—a site that's the source for many of the appellation's best examples." — 87 Points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Aug. 2018)
