Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Carignan. Biodynamic. Produced from 40+ year old vines and very low yields, this is an exceptional Côtes du Rhône. The wine is fresh and fruit-driven, with just enough tannin to keep it interesting and able to stand up to food. Red and blue fruit are the primary flavors (cherry, raspberry, cassis, and boysenberry) with some floral character from Grenache and Carignan. There is an undertone of black olives and savory herbs from the Mourvedre. Try this with a hanger steak, or lamb burgers.
