Collection: Domaine des Moirots 2016

We're excited to release the 2016 wines of Christophe Denizot and Domaine des Moirots, a family estate that has been producing wine on about 12 hectares of vineyards in the Côte Chalonnaise for 3 generations. These wines are an absolute steal at their price points—between $20 and $40/btl—and are well worth a spot in the cellar of any Jacky Truchot enthusiast (or lover of a good Burgundy value).

  • Domaine des Moirots Givry Blanc 2016
    $23.00

White wine. Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Chardonnay. Pale gold, rather open and fairly rich wine with plenty of fresh, balanced acidity and a savory mineral spine. This is a classically styled white Burgundy from the Côte Chalonnaise, the region just to the south of the Côte de Beaune. While you could go upscale and drink this with a butter-poached lobster tail, it is versatile enough to drink as an aperitif.

  • Domaine des Moirots Montagny 1er Cru le Vieux Chateau 2016
    $26.00
White wine. Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Chardonnay. “Another of the highlights of Denizot's range, the 2016 Montagny 1er Cru Le Vieux Châteaux reveals appealing aromas of spring flowers, crisp white peach and pastry cream. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, pure and elegantly textural, concluding with a precise finish. It's a delicate white Burgundy that offers an excellent representation of Montagny.” — 88 Points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (July 2018)

  • Domaine des Moirots Givry Rouge 2016
    $28.00
Red wine. Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Pinot Noir. "The 2016 Givry Village wafts from the glass with notes of smoky plums, cherries, licorice and a subtle touch of grilled meat. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, fleshy and flavorful, with a light framing of chewy tannins. I compared the regular bottling with the unfiltered cuvée that is exported to the USA and found the latter appreciably better." — 88 Points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (July 2018)

  • Domaine des Moirots Givry 1er Cru A Vigne Rouge 2016
    $40.00
Red wine. Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Pinot Noir. "Denizot's flagship red, the 2016 Givry 1er Cru A Vigne Rouge exhibits a rich bouquet of cassis, sweet red berries and plums. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, velvety and layered, with good depth and concentration, structured around fine-grained tannins. The only other source of this particular Givry premier cru is Denizot's friend François Lumpp." — 91 Points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (July 2018)
