  • Franz Hirtzberger Riesling Singerriedel Smaragd 2017
    $98.00
White wine. Wachau, Austria. Sustainable. 100% Riesling. "The 2017 Ried Singerriedel Riesling Smaragd is Hirtzberger's most spectacular wine this vintage in terms of power and richness. Picked October 5-26, the 2017 opens ripe and concentrated but fine and flinty on the elegant nose. Round, intense and very elegant on the palate, this is a rich, lush, powerful, well structured but refined and salty Singerriedel that hides its 14% alcohol very well. The wine does not have the purity and vibrant freshness of the Steinporz Riesling, but it is still young and has great aging potential. Tasted September 2018." — 92+ Points, Stephen Reinhardt, Wine Advocate #240 (Dec. 2018)

  • FX Pichler Gruner Veltliner Ried Liebenberg Smaragd 2017
    $51.00
White wine. Wachau, Austria. Sustainable. 100% Grüner Veltliner. "From a southwest-facing plot on calcareous soils, the 2017 Ried Liebenberg Grüner Veltliner Smaragd opens with a clear, super ripe and aromatic but coolish, spicy and mineral nose. The attack on the palate is racy and piquant, but the mid-palate is rich and powerful, almost sweet in its rich extract and with a salty-piquant acidity that rejuvenates the wine." — 93 Points, Stephen Reinhardt, Wine Advocate #240 (Dec. 2018)

  • FX Pichler Riesling Durnsteiner Smaragd 2017
    $35.00
White wine. Wachau, Austria. Sustainable. 100% Riesling. "The 2017 Dürnsteiner Riesling Smaragd (formerly Oberhauser) is from the first picking in the terraces as well as from the Trum and Oberhauser (today Klostersatz). Fermented in stainless steel and bottled in April, the wine shows a fine and discreet, herbal/floral-scented apricot nose that leads to a racy-piquant, light and crispy palate with enormous purity and freshness. Grown on gravelly soils in the plains, this is a stunning, vital and crunchy Smaragd with a long, intense and purely mineral finish that is full of tension." — 92 Points, Stephen Reinhardt, Wine Advocate #240 (Dec. 2018)
