  • Yannick Amirault St-Nicolas de Bourgueil La Mine 2017
    $19.00
Red wine. St. Nicolas de Bourgueil, Loire Valley, France. Organic. 100% Cabernet Franc. "The 2017 Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil “la Mine” from Benoît and Yannick Amirault is a lovely wine in the making, with a complex and expressive bouquet of cassis, black cherries, cigar smoke, a touch of tree bark, espresso, gentle meaty tones and a fine base of gravelly soil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and nicely structured, with a fine core, excellent soil signature, ripe tannins and impressive length and grip on the very promising finish. This bottling always needs at least a few years in the cellar to blossom, but all of the constituent components are in place for an outstanding wine with a bit of patience." — 91+ Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar #77 (Sept./Oct. 2018)

  • Marc Plouzeau Perles Fines Sparkling Brut Rosé NV
    $17.00
Sparkling wine. Chinon, Loire Valley, France. Organic. 100% Cabernet Franc. "Marc Plouzeau’s 'Perles Fines' Rosé Pétillant is a lovely wine, showing more elegance on the nose and palate than the 'Perle Sauvage' version. The bouquet shows lovely cabernet franc character in its mix of white cherries, a touch of tangerine, currant leaf, lovely soil tones and a bit of smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and very nicely balanced, with frothy mousse, a good core and nice length and grip on the vibrant finish. A tasty bottle of sparkling cabernet franc, with plenty of elegance." — 88 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar #59 (Sept./Oct. 2015)

  • Gerard & Pierre Morin Sancerre Cuvee Ovide 2016
    $28.00

White wine. Sancerre, Loire Valley, France. Sustainable. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Typical Sancerre citrus and herbs on the nose—only from this cuvée, these notes explode from the glass. Beautifully textured throughout the mid-palate, this has the most mineral-laden finish of the trio of outstanding whites. There is a wonderful sense of untamed energy throughout, that no doubt could uncoil itself for the better part of a decade.
