White wine. Piedmont, Italy. Sustainable. 100% Timorasso. "Timorasso Derthona is an ancient white grape variety that is being brought back by a small coterie of producers in Colli Tortonesi, including Giacomo Boveri. The Boveri family’s parcels are still planted to young vines, having only been gone into the ground in 2009, so one has to imagine that this bottling is only going to get even better as the vines attain a bit more maturity. That said, these nine year-old vines have produced a superb wine in 2018, with the complex nose offering up scents of tart pear, green olive, orange peel, a complex base of soil, wild fennel, a touch of paraffin and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very elegant in profile, with a superb core of fruit, excellent soil signature, bright acids and excellent balance on the long and complex finish. Tradition has it that Timorasso ages long and gracefully and this certainly seems to be the potential for the excellent 2018 bottling from Giacomo Boveri, so I would anticipate that this will be best if given five to seven years’ worth of bottle age. Very impressive juice! 2022-2040." — 93 Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar #101 (September / October 2022)
