  • Domaine Confuron-Gindre Coteaux Bourguignons 2016
    $16.00

Red wine. Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. Pinot Noir and Gamay. A fine, quite lush, blackberry and raspberry scented bouquet. The palate is fruit forward and quite tensile on the entry. Silky, polished tannins add to an overall feeling of finesse, something that is hard to find at this level. The used oak is nicely integrated with a fresh and vibrant finish. This is a good red to serve as an aperitif or with lighter red meat dishes.

  • Weingut Tement Sauvignon Blanc 2018
    $20.00
White wine. Südsteiermark DAC, Austria. Organic. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. "Super clear and spicy as well as fine and coolish like a mountain stream on the bright and stony but also fruity-scented nose, the 2018 Südsteiermark Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from 55 separately fermented parcels and a wide range of soils and expositions. It is a remarkably lush and intense Sauvignon with a crystalline and salty, discreetly powerful character. The finish is pure, lean and tightly structured with phenolic grip and some grapefruit bitters. This Sauvignon makes up 25% to 30% of the annual total and is sourced from all South Styrian villages except for Eichberg, so it's predominantly built on limestone but also slate, sand, gravel and marl. Bottled and tasted in May 2019." — 90 Points, Stephen Reinhardt, Wine Advocate #245 (Oct. 2019)

  • Domaine Guerrin Saint Veran 'Le Clos Vessats' 2017
    $20.00
White wine. Mâconnais, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Chardonnay. "The 2017 Saint-Véran 'Le Clos Vessats' from Domaine Guerrin et Fils in Vergisson is their younger vine bottling from this appellation, as this two hectare Clos is planted with fifteen year-old vines. However, the vineyard is steep and faces southwest in exposition, giving good mid-palate stuffing from these younger vines. The 2017 version is very pretty and quite classic in profile, offering up scents of apple, toasty soil elements, a touch of hazelnut, white flowers and a hint of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, focused and full-bodied, with a good core, zesty acids and very good grip and soil signature on the long finish. This is ready to drink right out of the blocks, but clearly has the balance to also age quite nicely." — 89 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar #79 (Jan./Feb. 2019)

  • La Ca'Nova Barbera d'Alba D.O.C. 'Loreto' 2017
    $19.00

Red wine. Piedmont, Italy. Sustainable. 100% Barbera. A beautiful mid-weight wine with a good deal of aromatic nuance. Sweet tobacco, leather, spice, menthol and dried herbs are all beautifully delineated. Medium in body, with the elevated acidity that is such a signature of the vintage. Specifically, it is the interplay of the freshness of the vintage with the rich expression of fruit that is typical here that makes this wine so satisfying

  • Uwe Schiefer Blaufrankisch Purbach Leithaberg Hoad 2015
    $25.00

Red wine. Sudburgenland, Austria. Organic. 100% Blaufränkisch. Produced from the Hoad vineyard in the Leithaberg DAC this is a beautiful rich wine. The Leitha mountains sit to the west of lake Neusiedl and the grapes benefit from the warm winds that come off the lake for ripeness and the cool temperatures at night to promote acidity. The result is a harmonious blaufrankish with cherry, plum, and boysenberry fruit, warm baking spices and a hint of kirsch. This would match nicely with a seared duck breast or venison tenderloin.
