  • Domaine L'Epicourchois Cheverny Blanc 2018
White wine. Cheverny, Loire Valley, France. Biodynamic. 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Menu Pineau. "Luc Percher’s Cheverny Blanc is a classic fifty-fifty blend of chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc. The 2018 version is a beautiful wine, offering up a refined and complex bouquet of quince, a touch of tangerine, lime peel, chalky soil tones and a potpourri of citrus blossoms in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent soil signature, bright acids and a very long, well-balanced and zesty finish that closes with a note of beeswax. A lovely wine that is still youthful and will be even better with a few years in the cellar. 2020-2030." — 90+ Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar #87 (May/June 2020)

  • Domaine Les Grands Bois Côtes du Rhône Villages Sainte Cécile Cuvée Philippine 2018

Red wine. Southern Rhône, France. Organic. 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah. The grapes come from 12-60 year old vines in the village of Sainte Cécile. The fermentation and elevage are all done in tank, preserving the minerality and fresh fruit character of the wine. Look for a deep color and good structure. The fruit is deep and concentrated, but still balanced, with flavors of balck plum, cherry, and boysenberry. There are also subtle notes of strawberry, spice, and roses. The wine has a mineral backbone and fresh acidity keep this wine from being one dimensional. This wine will pair happily with burgers from the grill, or for something more elevated try it with duck breast and sauce chasseur.
