If you haven't made it out to Early Mountain Winery's award-winning tasting room outside Charlottesville, you're missing out on an extraordinary local wine experience.
This Friday, you can get the next best thing right here in DC.
Join us on Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 as we welcome our friends from Early Mountain for a special in-store winemaker tasting event featuring 3 of the Madison County estate's pure, terroir-driven Virginia wines!
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Early Mountain sits on land with a deep and rich history. (The first landowner of the property was Revolutionary War veteran Lieutenant Joseph Early, who served under General George Washington at Valley Forge.)
Over 200 years later, in 2005, the first vineyards were planted on the property, which was officially re-opened under the Early Mountain brand in 2012.
In 2015, Early Mountain expanded its acreage to include Quaker Run Vineyard, 14 miles north of the Early Mountain estate in Madison County. That year, Early Mountain increased its acreage of classic Bordeaux-type varietals such as Cabernet Franc and Merlot and added new varietals including Malvasia Bianca, Sauvignon Blanc, and Tannat.
In 2016, Early Mountain Vineyards was voted the number one tasting room in the nation by USA Today in its 10Best Readers Choice contest.
Friday evening's tasting line-up features 3 excellent, unique wines that represent a pure expression of their Virginia terroir—including Early Mountain's very first vintage of their new flagship Merlot blend.
