Saturday afternoon. Three days before Christmas in a quiet city. Friends and family gathered around the tasting counter. Really good wine.
That's how we'll be celebrating this weekend—with a special Pre-Christmas tasting and sale featuring a line-up of gift-worthy 90+-point wines from our best producers in Burgundy, Champagne, Anjou, Châteauneuf-du-Pape & Austria!
We'll start with something from Champagne: a pure, complex 91-point offering from Nicolas Maillart that the Wine Advocate's Stephen Reinhardt called "highly impressive in its mineral expression."
We'll also pour two beautiful 93-point whites—a Grüner Veltliner from the Wachau's Franz Hirtzberger that Reinhardt deemed "noble, fresh, well balanced and persistent," and a Savennieres from star Anjou winemaker Eric Morgat that Jeb Dunnuck praised as "impeccably balanced" with a "terrific purity of fruit."
Finally, we'll feature 3 reds: a 90-point Marsannay full of black fruit, vanilla, and spice from Burgundy's Domaine Collotte...
...a supple, full-bodied 92-point Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Rasteau from Domaine Les Aphillanthes that's a steal at its $25 list price...
...and a head-turning 2013 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Raymond Usseglio that earned a 93-point score from Dunnuck.
Check back soon for more details on these wines, including tasting notes and special pricing. Whatever strikes your holiday fancy, It will be a jolly scene form noon to 4pm.
Even if you can't make it for the tasting, we'll be open our normal hours (10am - 8pm) on Saturday, and for special hours on Sunday (12pm - 6pm) and Monday (11am-6pm). We'll be closed on Tuesday (Christmas), then reopen at our normal time on Wednesday, December 26 to help you get ready to ring in 2019!
