Red wine. Bourgueil, Loire Valley, France. Organic. 100% Cabernet Franc. This is one of the top cuvées produced by Amirault. The vines are 50+ years old and grown on the Tuffeau soil that Bourgueil is famous for. The wine is marked by an intense purity of fruit look for flavors of cherries and boysenberry with some sandalwood and cedar at the back palate. This is a young wine with plenty of tannins and structure; you will be rewarded by allowing the wine to age for at least another year or two. If you plan to drink it now, give it a vigorous decanting at least 2 hours ahead of time. Try this with spiced duck breast or roast venison loin.
