Red wine. Rioja, Spain. Sustainable. 85% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano. From a family that has been making wines in Rioja for seven generations, Letago is a rich and fruit-driven example of wines from Rioja Baja. Aged for 12 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak 225 liter barrels and aged an additional 12 moths after bottling. This is a wine that needs some time in a decanter. Once the wine unwinds, look for flavors of cherry, plum, with baking spices and licorice at the back. A terrific wine for grilled and smoked foods, try it with a Texas style brisket.
