White wine. Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Chardonnay. Produced from several village level parcels with vines ranging in age from 25-70 years old. Fermentation in oak barrel (20% new) using only natural yeasts. The cellar is so cold that primary fermentation lasts until April and malolactic fermentation the next summer. As a result, the wines are released almost two years after most other white Burgundies. The 2013 Meursault has an attractive nose of grapefruit and lime, with hints of peach that develop in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with Granny Smith apple and a flowing, quite spicy finish. This is a well-crafted village Meursault to enjoy now and over several years.
