Red wine. Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Pinot Noir. From 20-, 35-, and 43-year-old vines planted on clay limestone soils covered with hard marble pebbles. The grapes are 100% destemmed prior to fermentation, followed by aging for 18 months in oak barrels (30% new oak). Succulent and mouth coating, with medium-bodied flavors that are intensely mineral-driven, all wrapped in a wonderfully long and well-balanced finale. Although not as robust or as powerful as its grand cru partner, the quality is every bit as good. This is one to buy.
