Rosé wine. Sancerre, Loire Valley, France. Sustainable. 100% Pinot Noir. This is, as far as we know, the only rosé from Les Montes Damnés vineyard. Made from young vine Pinot Noir, all massal selection, and aged in neutral barrels. On the nose the wine opens with aromas of cherry, strawberry, and peach skin. With some air, aromas of pink peppercorn, Szechuan pepper, chalk, and rose petal emerge. On the palate, flavors of strawberry and Rainier cherry, with undertones of peach skin and watermelon rind. Structurally, the wine has light, grippy tannins and bright acidity. The fruit flavors are ripe but balanced out by an elegant minerality. This is a wonderful rosé to sit with and savor. It can stand up to lighter dishes, cured meats, and cheeses.
