Red wine. Piedmont, Italy. Sustainable. 100% Grignolino. "Tenuta Olim Bauda’s 2020 Grignolino d’Asti “Isolavilla” is another really old vine bottling from the estate, as these vines were planted all the way back in 1950! I do not get to drink a lot of Grignolino made from seventy year-old vines, but I would be very happy to do so more often in the future! The beautiful bouquet jumps from the glass in a nicely transparent bouquet of bitter cherries, rhubarb, fresh oregano, stony soil tones, a bit of road tar and a topnote of rose petals. On the palate the wine is bright, tangy and full-bodied, with a lovely core of red fruit, excellent soil undertow, good acids and a long, balanced and complex finish that closes with a bit of backend tannin. This is excellent Grignolino. 2022-2035+." — 89 Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar #101 (September / October 2022)
